Jesse Greenwood. A 10 yr old boy left orphaned becomes adopted and works with an orca in the local aquarium, the orca and boy bond forming a life long friendship, now a sixteen yr old and willys best friend.

The whale who played Willy in that movie is- was- named Keiko (pronounced kayko) nd he lived at an aquarium in Oregon (the state that I live in.) But everybody wanted to let him go after they saw free willy so they released him into the ocean and he... died.
